The Turbocharging the VET Workforce initiative is a strategic program designed to strengthen Queensland’s vocational education and training (VET) sector, specifically targeting the clean energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. This program aims to build a skilled, capable workforce of VET teachers, trainers, and assessors to meet the growing demand for expertise in these critical sectors.
In partnership with the Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training, Manufacturing Skills Queensland will deliver targeted training and upskilling opportunities. The program supports the development and delivery of high-quality education and training resources, ensuring that Queensland’s VET workforce is ready to equip learners with the skills needed for the clean energy transition and advanced manufacturing.

To support trainers and assessors in embracing clean energy manufacturing, tailored resources will be developed that include up-to-date industry case studies, technical drawings, and diagrams. These materials are designed to enhance training delivery and ensure alignment with the evolving needs of the renewable energy sector.

Eligible participants include Queensland residents aged 15 and over who are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or hold eligible visas, and who have relevant manufacturing and/or engineering qualifications or industry experience. The program is open to qualified VET trainers seeking to upskill in engineering disciplines related to clean energy and manufacturing.
