Achieve Operational Excellence

Enhance your organisation’s efficiency, productivity, and profitability with our fully funded Certificate III Competitive Systems and Practices (MSS30322) or Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices (MSS40322). This hands-on, competency-based training program is designed for manufacturing employees in Queensland, with a focus on regional locations.

This program supports team leaders and supervisors to make positive changes in the workplace to boost productivity. Through mastery of competencies, and with specialised mentoring to guide their teams effectively, participants will reduce waste, improve efficiency, develop succession plans, and create clear career pathways.

Participants will have a choice of two qualifications in this program. Successful completion of this program will deliver a nationally accredited qualification to graduates. The following qualifications are available:

This fully funded initiative offers accessible professional development with a practical focus, combining on-site learning with real-world implementation to create immediate value for Queensland manufacturers:

  • Fully funded for eligible Queensland manufacturing employees
  • Manufacturing Skills Queensland will cover costs for participants ineligible for existing funding
  • Monthly interactive workshops on-site at the organisation
  • On-the-job support for skill practice and practical implementation of learning in real-time
  • Group improvement initiatives and projects with management support

Delivered by Leadership Management Australia (RTO 3908), this program focuses on leading improvement activities in core areas including:

  • Using Visual Management to drive process improvement in the workplace
  • Identifying and reducing waste
  • Successfully leading teams to implement and sustain CSP
  • Capitalising on Standard Work to improve work flow and prioritisation
  • Using process mapping to improve resource use and deliver enhanced productivity
  • Implementing 5S in the workplace to embed and sustain improvements
  • Leading change and innovation effectively
  • Identifying training and development opportunities and implementing targeted training and development initiatives
  • Developing leaders for the future
  • Delivering measurable results and an identified Return on Investment and Return on Expectations

Why this program matters

In today’s rapidly evolving manufacturing landscape, the Certificate III & IV in Competitive Systems and Practices address a critical industry challenge – enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As technological advancement and global competition reshapes manufacturing, the ability to implement effective and competitive systems and practices is crucial for success. This program equips participants with the tools to optimise processes, reduce waste, drive innovation and build Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 concepts within their organisations.

Who is this for?

  • Manufacturing employees employed in a small or medium-sized business (200 or fewer employees) based in Queensland.
  • Queensland residents actively working in the manufacturing industry. If you’re employed in a different industry, please contact us to discuss potential participation options.

Cost

  • This program is fully subsidised for eligible participants.
  • Where participants are eligible for funding or subsidies under the Queensland Government’s skills investment programs, MSQ will cover the costs of student contribution fees.

The first round of this program will be delivered in the following locations:

  • Townsville
  • Wide Bay
  • Sunshine Coast / Moreton Bay
  • Additional locations may be considered based on interest expressed

The program is delivered through monthly interactive workshops at your workplace, followed by on-the-job support and activities, all facilitated by Leadership Management Australia.

You’ll receive ongoing support through workshops, individual coaching, and mentoring from Leadership Management Australia’s experienced facilitators.

Yes, the program is designed to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability through the implementation of Competitive Systems and Practices.

The expected duration of the program is 12 months, however the duration may vary based on the certificate level undertaken and individual progress.

If you successfully complete the program, you will receive either a Certificate III in Competitive Systems and Practices (MSS30322) or Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices (MSS40322), issued by Leadership Management Australia.

The program is fully funded for eligible participants. MSQ covers costs for those who are ineligible for existing funding.

Assessment is primarily through practical application in your workplace, including the planning and implementation of improvement initiatives and project/s. There are some additional knowledge questions used to assess your grasp of key CSP concepts, tools and techniques.
