Program Highlights

Delivered by Leadership Management Australia (RTO 3908), this program is offered in three key locations – Townsville, Wide Bay, and Moreton Bay/Sunshine Coast – and focuses on leading improvement activities in the following areas:

  1. Identifying and reducing waste
  2. Using process mapping to improve resource use and deliver enhanced productivity
  3. Capitalising on Standard Work to improve workflow and prioritisation
  4. Implementing 5S in the workplace to embed and sustain improvements
  5. Using Visual Management to drive process improvement in the workplace
  6. Leading change and innovation effectively
  7. Successfully leading teams to implement and sustain CSP
  8. Identifying training and development opportunities and implementing targeted training and development initiatives
  9. Developing leaders for the future
  10. Delivering measurable results and an identified Return on Investment and Return on Expectations

Participants will focus on improvement initiatives and/or projects in at least two of these areas during the course, with the opportunity to plan further initiatives in other areas as part of ongoing continuous improvement activities following course completion.

Module 5 – Leading Successful Teams

Module 6 – Training And Developing People for Improvement

  • MSS403057 Map an operational process
  • MSMSUP390 Use structured problem-solving tools
  • MSS405078 Lead and manage people within competitive systems and practices
  • MSS403058 Facilitate breakthrough improvements
  • MSS403014 Facilitate team engagement with competitive systems and practices
  • BCBCMM412 Lead difficult conversations

Note: This is a cluster of units of competency, not a recognised qualification or skill set.

Program highlights

  • Initial phone contact to welcome participants and assess Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital competency
  • Virtual Overview Workshop to introduce the course
  • Six (6) interactive training workshops (face-to-face), up to 4.5 hours each
  • Course Goals Meeting with each participant and their manager/mentor
  • Minimum of two (2) site visits to plan and implement improvement activities
  • Three to four (3-4) structured one-on-one coaching and support sessions
  • Progress Review Meeting with each participant and their manager/mentor

  • An operational manager, supervisor, team leader, leading hand, or emerging leader in manufacturing
  • Employed by a manufacturer based in Queensland, specifically in the Townsville, Wide Bay, or Moreton Bay/Sunshine Coast regions
