Queensland manufacturers can access fully subsidised mental health and resilience training.

Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) has developed specialised courses designed for the manufacturing industry, addressing the unique challenges faced by leaders and employees while meeting obligations under Queensland’s Psychosocial Hazards Code of Practice 2023.

MSQ’s program delivery and commercial director Kris McCue said the training had been designed with the unique workplaces of manufacturers in mind.

“MSQ is committed to supporting Queensland manufacturers through every workforce challenge they face—whether it’s technical skills gaps or workplace wellbeing concern.

“By offering these complementary programs, we’re providing a comprehensive approach to psychological wellbeing in the workplace—addressing both awareness of mental health conditions and building the skills to navigate challenges effectively,” said Kris.

MSQ’s comprehensive training includes Mental Health Awareness courses for both leaders (45-60 minutes) and employees (40 minutes), teaching recognition of mental health conditions, legal responsibilities, and effective support strategies.

Complementing these are Building Resilience courses for leaders (75 minutes) and employees (60 minutes), providing evidence-based tools to navigate change, manage stress, and develop personal resilience action plans.

“Mental health awareness helps identify and address existing concerns, while resilience building provides preventative tools that strengthen your team’s capacity to handle future challenges. Together, they create a robust framework for psychological safety in manufacturing environments,” said Kris.

Queensland manufacturers can access these courses at no cost.
