Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) is proud to announce the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Maryborough is now open for business. The cutting-edge facility is now fully operational and accepting bookings from businesses, training providers, and industry partners.

Located at 73 Nagel Street, Oakhurst, the Centre of Excellence represents a significant investment in Queensland’s manufacturing future, offering advanced training facilities, industry-standard equipment, and specialised workshops designed to keep Queensland manufacturers competitive.

Manufacturing Skills Queensland chief executive, Rebecca Massingham said the centre was a pivotal moment for Maryborough’s manufacturing sector.

“The Manufacturing Centre of Excellence is not just a building – it’s a commitment to ensuring our local industry has the skills, technology, and innovation capabilities needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive global environment.”

The centre features purpose-built facilities including fitting and machining areas, welding and fabrication spaces, electrical workshops, augmented reality training stations, and design rooms equipped with design workstations and 3D printing technology. These specialised spaces are available for bookings to accommodate various training needs and schedules.

“We invite manufacturers, training organisations, and industry stakeholders to utilise this world-class facility,” said Rebecca.

“Whether you’re delivering apprenticeship training, upskilling your workforce, or exploring new manufacturing technologies, the Centre of Excellence is equipped to support your needs. We are truly open for business and ready to help shape the future of manufacturing in Queensland.”

The centre offers fully equipped conference and meeting spaces, available to the entire community—businesses, local organisations, and community groups are all welcome to book these professional spaces.

The establishment of the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence has been made possible through strategic partnerships, including support from the Queensland Government and foundation partner Downer.
