Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) is proud to announce the launch of ‘Manufacturing Matters’, a comprehensive digital resource designed to highlight the diverse and exciting world of manufacturing careers in Queensland.
This innovative platform showcases almost 200 career opportunities in manufacturing, with information on entry pathways for young people and schools, job seekers and career changers.
Manufacturing Skills Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer Rebecca Andrews said Manufacturing Matters was part of MSQ’s investment in industry through its annual training plan.
“Our goal with ‘Manufacturing Matters’ is to bridge the gap between education and industry awareness,” Rebecca said.
“We’ve created a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in exploring a career in manufacturing, whether they’re students considering their future options, job seekers looking to transition into the industry, or educators preparing the next generation of manufacturing professionals.”
The initiative recognises the critical role of a skilled workforce in driving Queensland’s manufacturing success.
In today’s rapidly evolving job market, high-quality, up-to-date information is crucial in guiding young people towards fulfilling careers. Manufacturing Matters is about empowering the next generation to make informed decisions that align with their passions and the industry’s needs.
Dean Deighton, Head of Northern Australia for the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) and a member of MSQ’s strategic advisory group said the platform addressed a critical need in the industry.
“Manufacturing is vital to Queensland’s economy. ‘Manufacturing Matters’, will help industry showcase pathways and careers; highlighting the innovation, technology, and sustainability that define manufacturing.”
“A key strength of the ‘Manufacturing Matters’ initiative lies in its capacity to reshape public perception of our industry. Modern manufacturing extends far beyond traditional production lines; it encompasses cutting-edge technology, sustainable practices, and innovative solutions to complex global challenges,” said Dean.
The website is now live. Manufacturing Skills Queensland encourages students, parents, educators, and industry professionals to explore the platform and discover the wealth of opportunities available in manufacturing.
