Supercharge Your Manufacturing Efficiency: Apply for the MEEG Grant Program!

Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) supports the Queensland Government’s new $7.1 million Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant (MEEG) program to help manufacturers curb their energy usage and cut energy costs.

Eligible manufacturers can now apply for matched grant funding ranging from $5,000 and $25,000 to buy equipment or introduce processes that will reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Eligible projects must be able to demonstrate at least a 10 per cent reduction in energy use or carbon emissions directly related to project implementation.

MEEG’s funding will be spread across two rounds, with the second one set for release in 2024.

Eligible projects could include:

Converting gas or fuel process to electric
Replacing existing dryers with heat pump dryers
Gas capture for reuse in other processes
Replacing non-LED lights with LEDs
Upgrades to motors
Optimising compressed air storage

Guidelines for Round 1 are now available online. Applications for this round will be accepted from 23 October 2023 to 30 June 2024, or when the funding is exhausted.
