Approximately two in five Australians aged 16-85 will experience a mental health condition during their lifetime. As part of the manufacturing industry, which employs 185,000 Queensland workers, we collectively play a vital role in protecting and supporting our community’s mental health and building the resilience of our workforce.
Enhance your personal psychological resilience and effectively navigate through the challenges of a fast paced and ever-changing work environment. Resilience provides a foundation for good mental health and wellbeing. These courses provide a broad understanding of contemporary concepts of resilience, including how to enhance your personal psychological resilience and gain the skills to influence the resilience of your team members. Two separate courses are available – one designed for leaders in manufacturing, and another for employees in manufacturing.
Manufacturing Skills Queensland has partnered with The Mental Health Project to provide award-winning mental health eLearning courses to the manufacturing industry. The Mental Health Project, renowned for its innovative mental health resources, offers engaging and informative eLearning courses that empower individuals to address common mental health challenges, provide support to colleagues, access referral resources, and create psychologically safe workplaces.
The Building Resilience for Manufacturing Leaders course is completely online, designed to support the manufacturing industry by equipping leaders and managers with with six evidence-based tools to navigate change, challenge, and adversity more effectively. Additionally, it provides four evidence-based tools to influence resilience in employees. Participants will gain an understanding of resilience characteristics, identify individual strengths, and create a personal resilience action plan. Upon completing the course, you’ll have access to our eToolkit. This resource includes practical online materials to assist employees with positive responses to workplace challenges and encourage resilience.

If you are a manufacturer outside of Queensland or employed outside of Queensland you are welcome to access the courses at a cost. Industries other than manufacturing (in Queensland or otherwise) are also welcome to access the courses at a cost.

Manufacturing Skills Queensland
The building resilience courses for leaders and employees are provided by Manufacturing Skills Queensland to Queensland-based manufacturers fully subsidised through the Annual Training Plan. This means if you are a leader or an employee in manufacturing in Queensland you can access the course at no cost.
The course is provided through Manufacturing Skills Queensland’s learning management system. To access the course visit https://courses.msq.org.au/.
The course for leaders is 75 minutes in duration. The course for employees is around 60 minutes in duration.
Yes, you will receive a certificate to mark your completion of the course. It’s important to note that this is a non-accredited course.
Upon completing the course, you’ll gain access to our eToolkit. This toolkit includes practical information, resources, and services to assist in managing employees with mental health conditions and create a psychologically healthy work environment. You can save the link to this toolkit to access when you need it.
The course is online. You can access it from any computer, tablet or mobile. We recommend using a computer for optimal experience.
